Reasons to Visit Nepal


Nepal is the country where Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world, is located. Mountaineering and other types of adventure tourism and ecotourism are important attractions for visitors. The world heritage site Lumbini, birthplace of Gautama Buddha, is located in southern Nepal, and there are other important religious pilgrimage sites throughout the country.

According to statistics of 2012, there is slow growth rate of 9.8%. The number of tourists had increased by 21.4 percent in 2011, which was Nepal Tourism Year (NTY). According to statistics from Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), a total of 598,204 foreign tourists entered the country via aerial route in 2012. The government of Nepal declared 2011 to be Nepal Tourism Year, and hoped to attract one million foreign tourists to the country during that year.[1] The tourist industry is seen as a way to alleviate poverty and achieve greater social equity in the country. The government of Nepal has also declared Lumbini Tourism Year 2012 to promote Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Nepal is famous for is natural beauty as well as religious country.

1.POKHARA

Pokhara is the third largest city of Nepal. It is the most beautiful city of Nepal. Every tourist wants to visit Pokhara when they come to Nepal. Pokhara is very much rich in natural beauty. Thera are also many religious places here. The second largest lake of Nepal,Fewa Lake lies here in the heart of Pokhara which makes this city more beautiful.

2.KATHMANDU

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Kathmandu is the city of temples. It is religiously very famous. Pasupathinath Temple lies here which is important temple for the hindu people. So many people mostly from India come to Nepal to visit Pasupathinath. Other temples like Swayambhu,Boudhha lies here. It is the most developed city in the Nepal.Kathmandu is the gateway to tourism in Nepal. It is also the nerve center of the country's economy. It has the most advanced infrastructure of any urban area in Nepal, and its economy is focused on tourism, which accounted for 3.8% of Nepal's GDP in 1995–96.The city has a rich history, spanning nearly 2000 years, as inferred from inscriptions found in the valley. Most of tourist stay in the Thamel which is also a tourist area of the Kathmandu.

3.LUMBINI

 It is the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama (Gautam Buddha). Siddhartha Gautama lived roughly between 623 and 543 BCE and he founded Buddhism as Gautama Buddha. Lumbini is one of four magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha, the others being atKushinagarBodh Gaya and Sarnath.Nepal is also famous because of the Lumbini. It is situated in the western development of Nepal. Lumbini is preserved under Lumbini Preservation Area.
4.CHITAWAN

People visit to chitawan because of Chitawan National Park. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. It covers an area of 932 km2 (360 sq mi) and is located in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal in the Chitwan District. In altitude it ranges from about 100 m (330 ft) in the river valleys to 815 m (2,674 ft) in the Churia Hills.Chitwan National Park is one of Nepal’s most popular tourist destinations. In 1989 more than 31,000 people visited the park, and ten years later already more than 77,000.On the edge of the national park Sauraha is a well-known spot for tourists.

You must visit these places once in a life. You won't see a actual natural beauty other place than Nepal.
